merry christmas everyone! thank you all for believing and supporting hansel from basel. designing and producing this line is such a labor of love and i am so grateful to have people appreciate it. before the tear gates open, here are a few updates:
1. slow and steady pop up shop in paris.
my darling friend is the visionary behind this amazing line and she invited hansel from basel to have some fun goods at the store. it closes on 12/24 so i hope someone was able to see it!

my niece, abigail is super into monsters. the "nice" kind and she likes to draw them with cute jagged teeth and different colors. here are a few of her chalk sketches. in one of the scenes, a tropical monster is saving the construction workers from a dangerous lion. did i mention she wants to be a construction worker when she grows up? such aspirations!

hansel from basel has never done a tradeshow before and we decided to test the waters with D&A in NYC. so far so great! there's been a lot of traffic and it's really exciting to see this side of the business in action. thanks press office for manning and putting together the booth!

we are traveling to japan in the next few days to do major sock research. (not sure if the cherry blossoms are still there.) it's been a crazy rush period in the last few days trying to seamlessly finish production and get our wits straight for the coming shipping schedule.

happy belated 4th!
hansel from basel is melting away in ny as we speak. last night, i heard really fantastic music at the woodsist festival in brooklyn. the oh sees ripped it up as the final act! so much fun to watch but standing on rocks for hours made me wish i was wearing a million socks to pad my poor feet.

Good Grief! Much time has passed and we have had many great things going.
For one, we are about to put up our spring collection online. It's a vibrant collection of soft silk items mixed with mercerized cotton ones. Expect some lovely photos of the collection by photographer, Ye Rin Mok.
Also, check out some pieces in the Feb. 09 issue of Nylon!

AW08 designs are all set and now, we are in selling mode. This period is quite stressful but fun all at the same time. Your heart, labor, soul,all of it is put to the test and in the end, it is always worth it. During, and I am still in this process, it's a stomach churning experience. Look at me, it's 1:23 am, I've got a sore throat, dark eye circles, and a new strand of white hair. Fear not, I will have the time to re-coop and plan to pluck that white hair good bye and conceal conceal with my favorite Kanebo concealer pen!
Regardless, Hansel from Basel AW08 is FFFRESH! This is my favorite and strongest collection to date and I hope you will fall in love with it.
It's all about getting luxe in wool/cashmere and pima cotton. Inspired by mountain adventures,cable knits, leather buttons on your grandfather's tweed suit, elbow patches, and rich rustic colors, we hope to add a nostalgic & autumnal sensibility to your fall ensemble.
